Job Description
As a Project Manager, you will act as the client’s representative, overseeing and managing all phases of construction projects. You will lead, direct, coordinate, and supervise the project team to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery. Your role includes defining strategic objectives, managing budgets, ensuring quality control, and overseeing the design and implementation processes while ensuring health and safety considerations are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the company’s representative and resource in all project matters.
- Ensure brand standards and design specifications are communicated, incorporated, and implemented in both design and construction.
- Develop and manage accurate budgets, ensuring they are followed and adjusted as needed.
- Lead and coordinate the design, supervision, and execution of projects with the project team.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of specification and quality.
- Meet project timelines and deadlines, ensuring effective use of resources.
- Oversee the procurement and timely availability of owner-supplied materials.
- Deliver completed projects in a structured and organized manner, ensuring transparency, accountability, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of design, implementation, and handover stages.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, tracking phases such as preliminary engineering, design, procurement, installation, testing, and final acceptance.
- Monitor and update site schedules, making adjustments as needed based on project developments.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports, including financial health checks and project status updates.
- Monitor contractor performance and report progress against project timelines and budgets.
Qualifications:
- Professional designations from recognized accrediting bodies (e.g., PMP, MRICS, JIQS, etc.) are preferred.
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of construction technology, buildability, and material selection.
- Expertise in building trades, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC&R, plumbing, and general construction practices.
- Familiar with relevant facility regulations, safety codes, and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ASHRAE, NEC, etc.).
- Expertise in training others on construction techniques and material selection.
- Knowledgeable in project management tools, business, financial, and legal trends, as well as advances in construction practices.
Experience:
- Significant experience in construction, engineering, or quantity surveying, preferably with a resort or hotel background.
- At least 5 years of experience in construction management and project management.
- International experience in construction management is required.
- Proficient in project management and document management software (e.g., Procore) and MS Office Suite (including MS Project, Excel, Visio, etc.).
- Certification in construction-related fields is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large teams, consultants, and contractors across diverse projects.
