A New Year, A New Beginning: Milestones and Hope for 2025
As we move forward into 2025, we take a moment to reflect on the profound impact of our #GAPGivesBack initiative and the lives we continue to touch through Door of Hope Children’s Mission in South Africa. In partnership with our Talent Partners, GAP Talent remains committed to ensuring that abandoned and vulnerable babies and children receive the care, love, and fresh start they deserve. Together, we are making a lasting difference – one child at a time.
Welcoming the First Arrival of 2025
January marked the arrival of Door of Hope’s first baby of the year, placed in the Baby Saver Box one evening with only a few stained blankets and clothing. While little was known about her past, her future is now full of love, warmth, and opportunity. From the moment she arrived, she was met with affection, care, and the promise of a new beginning.
An Auntie at Door of Hope will soon give her a name – a symbol of her fresh start in life. This is exactly why we support Door of Hope, ensuring that every child receives the love and care they deserve from the very first moments of their journey.
Celebrating Milestones and Growth
January also brought exciting milestones for our sponsored children at Door of Hope:
- Baby Boy N braved his first haircut, finding the experience ticklish and refreshing in the summer heat.
- Baby Boy B made huge strides in mobility, working on sitting independently for 3-4 seconds and then rolling around so much that the Aunties could hardly keep up with him!
- Mr. D, the oldest child at Door of Hope, started Grade R, marking an inspiring new chapter in his journey. Once facing an uncertain start in life, he is now a confident, well-adjusted little boy with an incredible sense of humour. His transformation is a powerful reflection of the impact that love, care, and opportunity can have on a child’s life.
Looking Ahead: Trusting in Big Things for 2025
