Financial Assistant – Guildford/ UK

GAP Talent is a market-leading bespoke recruitment company located in UK, Ireland and South Africa. We are currently looking for a motivated and ambitious Finance Assistant who will join our busy UK team, based in Guildford.

Main duties:

  • Maintaining the company purchase and sales ledger
  • Ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and performing Credit Control duties
  • Daily processing supplier invoices and maintaining supplier payment schedule
  • Month-end review and reconcile Debtor and Creditor Accounts
  • Providing information to support cash flow forecasting and management reports
  • Weekly capture of Customer receipts, Supplier payments and other bank transactions
  • Ensuring all transactions are posted with correct VAT code and supporting documents are electronically available and saved in relevant files
  • Month-end reconciliations of group inter-company accounts
  • Sourcing and saving receipts, documents for external bookkeepers, accountants
  • Monitor TP Loans and ensuring all repayments are being made
  • Monitor and manage all employee expense claims in line with the expense policy – to be reviewed and input on payment schedule within 3 days of receipt
  • Organize and maintain fixed assets register
  • Create monthly cost analysis reports for other departments to better manage their profitability
  • Manage subscriptions costs and supplier contract renewal
  • Maintain and update when necessary, all financial policies throughout the company
  • Assist Finance Manager in preparation of monthly and quarterly reports and forecasting reports
  • Ad hoc finance support as required and directed by Finance Manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or completion A-levels
  • 1-2 years’ experience within finance
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Package
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to solve problems and queries quickly and efficiently with times
