As we reach the midpoint of the year, it’s remarkable to reflect on the journey so far. Despite the challenging global market conditions, we’ve successfully navigated through H1. The audit sector has experienced low attrition rates, largely due to workforce insecurities and instability. This has resulted in limited movement and recruitment activities.
However, as we move into the second half of the year, there are promising opportunities on the horizon. Particularly, the demand for roles in Information Security and Cyber Security is on the rise. To address this growing need, we’re expanding our Technology desk, led by Kirstyn Johnston, to better support your firm’s requirements.
Additionally, there’s a noticeable uptick in interest from audit firms looking to South Africa for top talent to join them in 2025. If your firm is considering this avenue, now is the time to connect with us. We’re poised to collaborate with major firms, including the Big Four and Big Ten, as they gear up for recruitment in H2, with Q3 already showing significant promise.
Another key trend we’re observing is the strong desire among young South Africans to gain international work experience. The recent elections in South Africa have further fueled this aspiration. The prospect of global sponsorships is viewed as a valuable stepping stone for these professionals, offering them the chance to gain first-world experience which they can bring back to the continent, enriching our local industries.
At GAP Talent, we remain committed to supporting your firm’s growth and success. Please feel free to reach out to us for any recruitment needs or to explore how we can assist you in achieving your goals for the remainder of the year.
Warm regards,
